August 20, 1998

Nokia Multimedia Network Terminals acquires operations and all staff of the Swedish software company UID (User Interface Design) based in Linköping thus further strengthening its position as the leading supplier of system solutions and DVB-based multimedia terminals.

Nokia and UID have been working in close co-operation to develop advanced software applications since 1994. "Our strategy is to offer terminals with software solutions to operators and service providers so that these services are more attractive and terminals are easier to use.
