PRESS RELEASE - CacheIQ Inc receives a $3.9 million investment

Austin, Texas-based Cache IQ has reached its goal of $6 million in an initial round of funding from 27 individual angel investors. The company is developing a network resident caching solution for file based storage.

The Cache IQ solution automatically accelerates the active data set, but gives storage teams the ability to optimize network storage performance through simple, yet intelligent policies. This solution will deliver unmatched application performance, a reduction in storage spending, better visibility, and powerful tools for more effective decision making.

In addition to improving application performance through caching to DRAM and Flash memory, Cache IQ’s solution will also include comprehensive real-time monitoring tools. These tools will give storage administrators complete visibility into storage subsystem performance, caching effectiveness, and any bottlenecks or issues. Unlike other cache-based solutions, CacheIQ installs transparently into storage networks and requires no changes to applications, clients, or storage.

Cache IQ is headed by CEO Joel Trammell, chairman of the Austin Technology Council and co-founder of enterprise network monitoring company NetQoS, which was acquired in November 2009 by CA for $200M.
